Portillo’s Makes It Public—Humble Location Details Released

As we reported late last year, Portillo’s had its sights set on Humble—and now the Chicago-style favorite has made it official.

Portillo’s – the fast-casual restaurant concept known for its menu of iconic American food with a Chicago twist – has announced the upcoming opening of its newest Texas location at the northeast corner of Hwy 59/I-69 and FM 1960, close to Deerbrook Mall. The Humble restaurant will join existing Houston-area locations in Richmond, Katy, and Willowbrook.

The new Portillo’s will be approximately 6,250 square feet and built using the brand’s innovative “Restaurant of the Future” design. It will feature indoor and outdoor seating for about 160 guests, plus Portillo’s signature double drive-thru lanes, Grab and Go area, and Portillo’s Pick Up shelves to make off-premise dining more convenient.

“We are thrilled to continue to expand our footprint in Houston following the success of our recent openings in Richmond, Katy and Willowbrook,” said Portillo’s CEO Michael Osanloo. “We’ve loved serving our iconic, craveworthy food to the Houston community, and look forward to continuing to give our guests greater convenience with this newest location in Humble.”

Guests can expect to enjoy fan-favorite items like Portillo’s Famous Italian Beef Sandwiches, Chicago-Style Hot Dogs, Char-Grilled Burgers, and their Famous Chocolate Cake when the restaurant opens later this year.

“The City of Humble is excited to welcome Portillo’s and the classic taste of Chicago that they will bring to our community,” said Mayor Norman Funderburk. “While Humble already boasts numerous excellent dining options, the addition of Portillo’s is sure to instantly be one of the new favorites for all.”

Hiring for managers and shift leaders will begin soon. Interested candidates can learn more at portillos.com/careers. Fans are also invited to sign up at Portillos.com/HumbleTX for a chance to attend a free sneak peek meal prior to the official opening.
