Kane’s Boot & Western Shop will close after 57 years in business

Ed Kane of Kane’s Boot & Western Shop has decided to close his store after 57 years in business.

Originally opening as Kane’s Shoe Repair which grew to 4 locations in the Houston area before opening Kane’s Boot & Western Shop in 1957 on Jensen Drive where he stayed until 1978.

Kane’s then relocated to Humble on Aldine Bender.

In 1996 Kane’s moved again this time it was across the street to their present location at 6306 Aldine Bender as the previous location was expropriated for the Highway 59 expansion.

“We just started our sale to liquidate the inventory and store fixtures and expect to close around the end of January, even the building and property are for sale.” Said Denise Kane (Ed’s daughter).

Ed Kane announced his retirement in a letter to his customers in November.
