Light of the World Christian Fellowship to build new worship center in Humble

Members of the Light of the World Christian Fellowship (LOWCF) gathered at 1:00 p.m. on September 7th to witness the groundbreaking ceremony for the church’s future worship center, located on 25 acres at 16161 Old Humble Road. The groundbreaking ceremony launched the first of many events and activities that will be held this year to commemorate the 20th anniversary of LOWCF.

“We are building on our foundation and looking forward to the future,” said Jerry G. Martin, pastor of LOWCF. Pastor Martin said those words have a special meaning because “the church is growing and is expanding beyond its original building to provide a larger facility to serve its congregation and the community. Our future worship center will also include the Children’s Worship facility and the Bible Institute for Instruction.”

“There is a big difference in having church and being a church.”

The church has been in its current location at 16161 Old Humble Road in Humble since February 2006.

“There is a big difference in having church and being a church.” said Pastor Jerry. “The character of our church is to be integrated into the community.  We want to take the light and the love of Christ out into the world. It is our goal to reach our community by serving our community. We encourage our members to serve others and enrich the community in which we live.”

The Light of The World Christian Fellowship supports missions and ministries in Africa, Europe, Mexico, the U.S. as well as the local Humble and Houston communities.
