The Gathering Place a program for people with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other forms of memory loss

Do you know someone who is caring for a loved one who is living with Alzheimer’s or Dementia? First United Methodist Church of Humble has a great program called “The Gathering Place” — Trained volunteers provide a loving, safe and fun environment for people living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, or other forms of memory loss. The activity program is a partnership between Interfaith CarePartners and FUMC Humble.

The Gathering Place takes place once a month and combines socialization, physical movement, music, and other memory-stimulating activities in a comfortable 3 hour time block, enabling caregivers to attend to their personal needs without worry.

All services are provided free of charge — Before attending the Gathering Place an initial visit is conducted by Interfaith CarePartners staff to welcome new participants.

Contact the church office at 281-446-2332 for more information on this program.
